For lack of a better word, there is a large "hole" on the side of my chin/jaw. Depending on the lighting, it can even look like my cheeks are sagging down, but I know that's not the case; my skin is extremely tight. I don't know when or why this circular indentation appeared, but I'm interested in treating it. Will half a vial of Sculptra be enough to correct this? I hear 1 full vial generates as much as 5ccs of volume. Thanks!!
Answer: I use Sculptra for larger areas Dear patient, Sculptra is basically ground up suture material that is constituted (mixed) with sterile water and local anesthesia and injected int the desired area. Immediately after the procedure the skin appears plump but this will gradually dissipate over 1 day. What remains is a thin layer of a Sculptra powder that starts the process of collagen synthesis. The process of Collagen synthesis can take 2-3 months to be completed. The resulting Collagen can last several years. I use Sculptra for larger areas. The photos you provided are helpful but don't allow a complete evaluation of your 3 dimensional face. I suggest you try a hyaluronic acid filler such as Restylane or Juvederm instead of Sculptra for this small and very localized indentation. Restylane can be injected in tiny droplets and the location of the injection can be a lot more precisely controlled. What you see if often what you get. The other benefit of a hyaluronic acid filler is that it can much more easily reversed if you don't like the results. I hope this was helpful. Yours Dr David R.

Answer: How to treat hollow area on side of chin? An examination of the hollow area on the side of your chin would be helpful to give you the best advice. Just based on your photos, it appears to me that injectable fillers could improve this issue. If you used Sculptra, in my opinion, that area could be treated with a 1/2 vial or less but you most likely would need more than one treatment session to obtain your desired result.

Answer: Hollow indentation near chin This type of indentation is quite common and I would definitely recommend a small amount of Juvederm to treat this area. The injection should last about one year in duration. I love Sculptra but it would not typically be used in this indication and would require several treatments. Please consult an expert in Juvederm for the best cosmetic results. Best, Dr. Green

Answer: Treating lower face volume loss with filler Either an HA filler like Restylane Defyne or a collagen stimulating filler like Sculptra Aesthetic will help improve the appearance of this hollow.

Answer: Lower face volume Hi there,Judging by the photo it looks like a filler can definitely improve that area. I would suggest using maybe the new Restylane Refyne or Defyne. Sculptra is a good option as well. Schedule a consultation with a Board Certified physician to choose the right product for you.Best of luck,
