My nose is relatively narrow on its own, but whenever I get nervous, I guess I breathe differently and the alars stretch out. I think these are called dynamic nostril flare? Would botox be a solution? Thanks.

Answer: Nasal Flaring There are two muscles that can be targeted for nasal flaring - levator labii superioris alaque nasi and the dilator narsa anterior muscles. I would recommend starting with very small doses (0.5 to 1 unit), reassessing, and adding as needed. It's a lot easier to add, then take away. Thank you for your question.

Answer: Botox The levator labii alaeque nasi muscle helps keep the external nasal valve open. If it is completely paralyzed it can lead to functional airway obstruction. Potentially weakening with small amounts of botox is an option. Find an experienced injector for this problem.
