Had Botox in my forehead and crows feet 2 weeks ago, wore a new ski mask and have a long deep mark. Is the Botox the cause?

I had botox done to my forehead and crows feet area two weeks ago. I went skiing today for several hours and wore a new ski mask (ski goggles). It has been six hours and the mark on my forehead from the mask is still there. It is very long and deep. As if my forehead is divided in two. Is this permanent? Is this due to the botox? I have never had this happen before with any ski mask, usually the mark goes away within an hour.

This sorts of pressure marks should be quite transient.  How much sun exposure did you get skiing?  You might be looking at a combination of swelling and a pressure mark.  Now if you had a dense forehead treatment that paralzyed your forehead, then sure, it can cause tissue to heap up at the brow so more tissue to compress.  Still this is likely to be better the next day.

No, it is unlikely that this is caused by the Botox. It may be due to pressure from the ski mask and should resolve. If it persists, I recommend following up with your Doctor. Best, Dr. Emer

So you're saying this has happened before with a ski mask, but not that you've had Botox you think it might be the Botox? I doubt it! and I doubt it's permanent. The Botox should have maximally worked by now and your mask could not have moved it this late after the injections. However, it's always ood to be examined by your injector when things like this happen.Good luck, Dr. ALDO

A long deep mark would not be the result of your Botox injection.  It sounds like the hat left a deep mark which should go away.  Best, Dr. Green
