A line has appeared on my forehead after Botox. How long until it goes away?

New line has appeared on my forhead will this go away and is this normal as i recieved a small amount of botox and this line was never there before as ithe has appeared the last few days How long till it will go away?

This could be due to the placement of Botox. A touch-up of Botox could give improvement or venus legacy treatments will help soften results. Botox results last 3-4 months. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Thank you for your question.  Unfortunately without a photograph and not knowing what areas were treated with Botox it is difficult for me to evaluate the new line that you are describing.  Botox injections do take a full week to see your result.  If at that time you are concerned, my advice would be to consult with your injector for a possible adjustment.  Best of luck.

Whatprobably is happening is the muscle of the forehead(frontalis muscle)  which has not been blocked by Botox is  over compensating to still lift the brow. Itmeans you have a very active muscle. My suggestion is to contact thephysician's office and have a discussion. A little tweaking with a small amountof Botox may solve the problem. In any event you want a natural look and maybea simple adjustment will get you there.

Botox and new lines can appear as a result of Botox being placed in an area that didn't correct the treated area properly.  I would return to your treating physician for examination since a small amount of Botox carefully placed should fix this.  If it cannot be fixed you should consult a board certified dermatologist for your next Botox injections.  Best, Dr. Green

If there is not enough Botox in the forehead, there could be movement that causes wrinkles. This new line is the result of that. Further Botox is needed to improve this line. Waiting for the Botox to wear off will take 3-4 months.

It is not unusual for the adjacent muscles to try to recreate the defect and create a new line temporarily. You don't say how long since the injection but it should be ok after 7-10 days and if not contact your doctor

Without a photo, it is impossible to tell if this is a residual line not fully treated by the Botox injection or additional muscle activity as a result of the initial Botox treatment.  I find that in many patients, the full effect of Botox is not seen for up to 14 days after treatment.  On the other hand, occasionally weakening one muscle causes other (untreated) muscled to "overact".  It is sometime necessary to treat these additional areas, but I would make sure to wait at least 14 days until deciding on a course of action.
