Rhinoplasty & septoplasty together or separate for best results?

Question

Can a rhinoplasty and septoplasty be performs together or should they be two separate surgeries for best results? Can a lip lift be incorporated with a decrease of the nostril size as well. Best Rhinoplasty Septoplasty in TJ

Hi @Genuine3445. A rhinoplasty and septoplasty are commonly performed at the same time. I would recommend the lip lift after the rhinoplasty.

Although individual practices may vary, plastic surgeons and otolaryngologists can work together to perform septorhinoplasty in a single stage, with the advantages of having a single episode of anesthesia and limiting costs. 
As to whether alar base reduction and lip lift can also be done at the same time will depend entirely upon if your surgeon performs open or closed rhinoplasty and you are both comfortable with the resulting scars.

It is actually best to perform rhinoplasty and septoplasty together because the cartilage of the septum is often used to help support the nose. If the septum is done separately, that cartilage is wasted. I would do the lip lift as a separate procedure after the rhinoplasty has healed. Be sure to see a rhinoplasty specialist for consultation.

It would make the most sense to have a rhinoplasty and septoplasty at the same time.  This avoids two separate sessions of general anesthesia and two separate recovery periods.

I understand your concern. It is best however that you consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to determine whether you can have several aesthetic surgeries in one session, as this would depend on various factors including but not limited to your general health condition, the type of anesthesia that will be used, and the type of surgeries that will be performed among others.

Thank you for your question! It is best to do a septoplasty with a rhinoplasty, as the surgeon can use the cartilage normally thrown away in a septoplasty as graft material for nasal reconstruction. 
Yes, a lip lift with a nostril reduction can be done as well.

Can a rhinoplasty and Septoplasty be performed at the same time? A rhinoplasty and septoplasty are most commonly performed at the same time. Nostril tuck is also usually performed at the same time. Some surgeons would consider it wise to let that heal and perform the lip plasty at a later date.

Hi Genuine3445,Thank you for your question. If possible; Septoplasty and Rhinoplasty should be performed at the same time. (Pros/Advantages: Single anaesthesia-For correction of axis deviation- Graft preperation from septum area etc..) Otherwise, you may not find enough cartilage during rhinoplasty, you may not fix the deviation properly etc...Lip lift&alar plasty, I do not recommend combined surgical treatment due to anatomic changes. 3-4 months interval is ideal, to me. It's very important to both procedures be performed together, not separately, in case there's septal cartilage needed from the inside of the nose for grafting purposes on the cosmetic rhinoplasty.
