Is a deviated columella easy to fix? Can I request my operation report? I had surgery more than a year ago but was told 'swelling was a factor' and also that 'it looked fine' I actually nose pre surgery

You can absolutely request your operative report from your surgeon and bring it with you to future consults if you are considering a revision rhinoplasty. Often when I consult patients for revision rhinoplasty surgery, they will present me with the operative notes from their prior surgeon, which is generally helpful (though not mandatory). I do see that you have several issues taking place, one at the keystone area (where the bony elements meet the cartilaginous elements), as well as some knuckling of cartilage. The angle of the pictures makes it difficult to diagnose what exactly is going on with your columella. I recommend consulting with a board certified plastic surgeon who has experience with revision rhinoplasty so you can discuss your goals and expectations.

Many factors influence how well the results from rhinoplasty will turn out, including your underlying bone and cartilage, as well as the thickness of your skin. That’s why it’s impossible to tell how simple restoring your columella would be. However, if you’re considering revision rhinoplasty to fix this deviation, I highly recommend visiting a reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeon. Make sure they have extensive experience performing revision rhinoplasty because the procedure is even more complex than the initial surgery.
