So I have a pimple in my gum on my bottom right molar from an infection but my Rhinoplasty is in a week! Should I just take antibiotics and be okay to undergo surgery? Please advise! The rhinoplasty is in another country so its not like I can reschedule.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Dear poutnfluff, you should have no infections prior to an elective procedure. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: Should I have a rhinoplasty in the face of an infection in my gum? I would not recommend a rhinoplasty with an infection anywhere, particularly in the face. An infection in a rhinoplasty can be very serious. You should see your surgeon before hand or consult a plastic surgeon who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery. In the meantime, you should have a full course of antibiotics to eliminate your gum infection entirely.
