Has anyone had rhinoplasty and breast implants done together? Anything I should know about the recovery?

Is it safer to have them done separately or is doing them together ok?

Hi there. Thank you for your post. It is quite common for breast enlargement surgery and rhinoplasty to be performed in the same operation - it saves on overall recovery time and expense. There are slightly increased risks associated with having a longer operation but this will be discussed in more detail during your consultation. Good luck!

best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation.  Rhinoplasty and breast augmentation are commonly combined into a single surgical setting.  This is a very safe combination in healthy patients.  Make sure you specifically look
at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery
performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.   The most
important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend
that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who
can evaluate you in person.

Assuming that your surgeon is efficient with time, there should be no contraindication to doing a rhinoplasty and breast augmentation at the same time. Neither are prone to significant blood loss. The combination will allow you to combine the risk of anesthesia and limit yourself to one recovery.

Dear srbmom2017, These procedures are performed together often in my practice. I performed the same combination earlier this morning and the patient is resting well at home already. Generally patients like to combine these procedures so that they have one recovery time, one operative room and anesthesia expense, thus saving money and time in the long run. Thank you for your question.  Technically both procedures can be done at the same time.However I preferred not to do these 2 operations together.  During rhinoplasty bacteria from the nose into the bloodstream and if implants are placed at the same time the bacteria can attach to the implant and lead to scar formation and capsular contracture.

Hello, yes Rhinoplasty and breast implants are  combined when needed. It depends on surgeon and the facility where she is working. Pain is more in breast that in nose and is well controlled. If surgery is expected to be long you may need to stay in hospital overnight. Total recovery time will not be longer than individual surgery - 1-2 weeks total.
