Answer: Exercise After Breast Augmentation Provided that everything is healing normally, I typically advise my patients that they may resume light exercise such as running and cardio after 2 weeks. It is important to refrain from heavy lifting and upper body exercises for the first 4-6 weeks after surgery. These are guidelines I give my own patients but it is important to discuss this with your surgeon as well. I recommend consulting with a reputable board certified plastic surgeon and closely following his or her post procedure guidelines. Best of luck with your procedure!

Answer: Returning to activity after breast augmentation Thank you for your question. I generally like my patients to wait at least two full weeks before returning to physical activity. After two weeks, I like my patients to start slow in the gym and listen to their body. I do not subscribe to a prolonged inactivity period. I hope this helps. Best, David J Pincus, MD

Answer: Exercise after breast augmentation Thanks for your question. I generally suggest avoiding vigorous exercise for at least 2-4 weeks after breast augmentation; this minimizes the risk of early post-operative complications. Specific recommendations are tailored to the individual recovery of each patient. That being said, protocols will vary dramatically from physician to physician. You should discuss your concerns with your board certified plastic surgeon. Bets of luck!
