Dear nova67,every plastic surgeon has his own postoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Thanks for the question. After 6-8 weeks your surgery area is totally healed and yes you can dancing and also do other activities. I wish you all the best.
Provided that everything is healing normally, I typically advise my patients that they may resume light exercise such as running and cardio after 2 weeks. It is important to refrain from heavy lifting and upper body exercises for the first 4-6 weeks after surgery. These are guidelines I give my own patients but it is important to discuss this with your surgeon as well. I recommend consulting with a reputable board certified plastic surgeon and closely following his or her post procedure guidelines. Best of luck with your procedure!
Thank you for your question. I generally like my patients to wait at least two full weeks before returning to physical activity. After two weeks, I like my patients to start slow in the gym and listen to their body. I do not subscribe to a prolonged inactivity period. I hope this helps.Best,David J Pincus, MD
Thanks for your question. I generally suggest avoiding vigorous exercise for at least 2-4 weeks after breast augmentation; this minimizes the risk of early post-operative complications. Specific recommendations are tailored to the individual recovery of each patient. That being said, protocols will vary dramatically from physician to physician. You should discuss your concerns with your board certified plastic surgeon. Bets of luck!
This will depend on your surgeon's preferences. Since every plastic surgeon is different, you will need to discuss your post surgery activities with your surgeon.
It would be best to have a discussion with your plastic surgeon as each has their own preference regarding the maximum activity level after surgery. It would also be important to explain the intensity of your Barre workouts to your surgeon so that he/she can guide you appropriately. Hope this helps!
Hi nova67, and thank you so much for your question. I like to counsel my patient's to wait approximately 3 weeks to do any exercise that elevates their heart rate or that involves lifting or holding over 10-15 pounds, and that includes barre. After three weeks, I tell my patient's to start ramping their exercise back up, and it seems this would be a reasonable time to return to barre, but I suggest talking with your board certified plastic surgeon. Best of luck and congratulations on your decision for breast augmentation.
After a 24 hour, rapid recovery breast augmentation, you should not have much trouble getting back to work and doing things like going to Barre class within a few days of your surgery. The rapid recovery protocol is designed to get you back to your normal life as quickly as possible and at the same time reduce the risks from the surgery. You will not be healed, meaning that you may still be a little sore but you can easily get back to work in 4 or 5 days and get out to the beach within a couple of days after your breast augmentation. We use the new natural feeling gummy bear implants from Sientra, which allow the placement of the implants above the muscle to not only speed your recovery but also reduce your risk of capsule contracture, implant animation and rippling.I have added a video and link to a page on recovery for you. I hope that helps. Best regards.
