At 4 days post op, you are very early in your healing process. It can take anywhere from several weeks to several months for the breasts to fully settle so it is far too early to evaluate your results. This distance between your breasts is determined primarily by your natural anatomy so they are unlikely to get closer together. It is likely that you are still dealing with some post-procedure swelling as well. All of these things play a role in the overall appearance of your breasts, I would recommend giving yourself some time to heal and reevaluate your results in a few weeks. Best of luck!
Hello,Depending on the type and shape of implants your natural breast shape will be modified. If your breasts were naturally "pointy", they will be enhanced as such to varying degrees depending on the type of implant used. Higher projection implants will exaggerate this characteristic more than lower projection styles. These are nuances that I review with each patient before surgery to ensure their desired look is best achieved. You will appreciate your final results in a few months when the swelling has resolved and the implants have settled into their pocket.Warm regards,Dr. Pedy Ganchi Village Plastic Surgery
Dear dayleeg,I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a breast augmentation surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process at 4 days post op.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively. At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues around the implants are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides and the implants drop to their final position, you will be able to see the final result of your breast augmentation surgery.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Hello @dayleeg and thank you for your question. You are still very early in your healing process. Recovery times after breast augmentation vary and depend on a number of factors (i.e. location of implant pocket, implant size, extent of chest wall muscle dissection, etc.). It may take up to 6-12 months for you to completely heal and achieve your final look. I recommend that you continue to follow your plastic surgeon’s post-operative instructions to achieve optimal results. Hope this helps!James Lee, MDBoard Certified Plastic SurgeonMontreal, Canada
dayleeg. I appreciate your concerns but way too early to worry. Your body needs time to heal and adapt to the implants. Your implants appear fairly large and the skin and muscle over the implants must stretch a bit to allow the implants to settle into their final position. While your appearance will improve fairly quickly, don't expect to see your final result for at least 6 months after surgery. Good Luck!
Hello and thank you for your question! You are still in the very early stages of the healing process. You need to allow 4-6 months of healing to start seeing final results. Good luck!
At 4 days you are about 2 percent settled, shaped, softened, dropped and fluffed. "Drop and fluff" refers to the fact that as the skin stretches and the muscles relax, the implants move down and out slowly – about 1 percent a day. It’ll be about six weeks before they even begin to settle down, but they’ll be close to 80 percent settled and softened at three months. Watching their progress is like watching your hair grow. You don’t see a difference in your hair growth daily, but all of a sudden you need a haircut. Be patient after surgery. Give yourself a few months before making a judgment about your surgical results. You won't know the outcome until then. Your increased volume will make it easier to push your breasts closer in clothes.Dr. Ted Eisenberg, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and AuthorPhila., Pa.
Congratulations dayleeg on your surgery and thank you for your question. It is way too early to judge the shape of the breast. It takes 6-8 months for the breast to settle out, swelling to come on down and for them to soften up. Best of luck to you.
Thank you for your question and photographs. My strong advice is to wait a full 4-6 months before considering the result of your breast augmentation procedure. You are likely quite swollen at 4 days post op. Best of luck.
You are still early in the healing process and what you are seeing is not your final results yet. You may still be experiencing persistent swelling and your implants have not settled yet. It usually takes 3 or 4 months before your tissues relax and your implants drop to the breast pockets. Keep in touch with your surgeon and follow his/her instructions to avoid complications.
Most surgeons advise removal of all jewelry, but if this is implanted and not removable, consideration may be given to using alternative cautery techniques (like bipolar cautery), which do not carry current through the whole body, or to trying to cover/tape the metal. The actual risk of...
Thanks for your question about breast augmentation. If you are feeling numb then I would say that the bra is too tight. In my practice I do place patients in a post operative bra and have instructions for them to wear it regularly and then we counsel them on suggested bra options after surgery. ...
Dear yirving, the majority of breast augmentation patients need one week of downtime. Depending on the work environment (heavy lifting, etc) more time off may be necessary. Patients are encouraged to walk immediately after surgery to avoid blood clots in the legs. I suggest that you follow your...
