How do I lighten/remove dark mark from ingrown hair on breast? (Photo)

I recently had what I believe to be an ingrown hair on my left breast. I have never had this happen before and it left behind a purplish dark mark right in the front of my breast. I'm very self conscious about it and I don't know how to get rid of it. Can anyone make some recommendations?

Thank you for your photo. After an ingrown hair, it possible to have an area of wound healing and a small scar. Usually there is no actual scar at all, but just a dark spot from inflammation. These spots usually improve on their own if you protect them and keep them out of the sun. If the scar or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation remains, a variety of treatments can be performed from bleaching creams to  energy-based lasers and radiofrequency devices to mechanical disruption of the scar with microneedling. For the best treatment options, it is important to visit an expert for an in-person examination. Hope this helps!
