What you are describing as chicken skin is normal hair follicle anatomy of the vulva. Everyone’s vulva would look like this without hair. You are completely normal and I do not believe any amount of lotion will help. Laser hair removal MIGHT help since it destroys the hair follicle, but even that is not a guarantee. Please rest assured that you are totally normal and no one would ever look at your vulva and think that anything is wrong with it.
Having seen thousands of vulvas in my career, I can confirm that your vulva looks very normal. I do not see any chicken skin.If the issue is dryness, I would avoid using any soap directly on your vulva. Many women tend to overclean and make the skin dry. I am not sure what moisturizer you are using, but Aquafor or Vaseline are very safe and effective (and cheap).
Hi anonuser, You can have a plastic surgeon or urogynecologiat remove some of the excess tissue in the area. The scar , if he surgery is done properly, is minimal. Laser resurfacing is not a great option because the results are very temporary. I hope this helps.Best,Dr. Christine Rodgers

Laser vulvar resurfacing is a conservative way to accomplish this, but not all results are ideal. Also, a "Classic" semi-lunar excision to remove the "bumpiness" is available. Or, you could "live with it" (perhaps the best choice.) Whatever you do, choose a surgeon with demonstrated experience who can counsel you properly and is equipped to do all procedures. Not a Dermatologist, who only resurfaces, but a Cosmetic Gynecologist who can do both and counsel you re: the best for you. Which, as I said, may be just to let it alone... As a gynecologist with over 25 years experience, I often see dryness and pain with sex. If the pain is more internal, please see a gynecologist as it could be a lot of things--endometriosis, pelvic floor spasm. If it is external, it could be the products you are using since your laser hair...

It is hard to say for sure based just on the picture, but this could be lichen sclerosus (LS), especially if it is itchy. This is not caused by the laser but can spontaneously occur. It is best diagnosed with a biopsy and very treatable. Vulvar biopsies can be quick and fairly painless with a...
