2 years post tummy tuck and preparing for a scar revision and belly button revision, what should I expect for my recovery?

How long can I expect the healing process to be for a tummy tuck revision. He is fixing my “ hip to hip “ scar and redoing my belly button. I want to know what the healing process is like since i have already been through the tummy tuck itself.

Abdominoplasty scars can be quite complex, ranging from the simple hypertrophic scar to a multiplane inflamed keloid. Pigmentation, discoloration, chronic inflammation, scar visibility can all occur in the short term. We begin each treatment with combination therapy using Yellow broadband BBL, Vbeam, fractional erbium, intralesional IIT, and scar modulation. Start with a combination of Plato's Scar Serum massaged twice daily after one week of epithelialization followed by Luminase/Exfolase. Scar consultation and revision may be recommended.

Dear Marylander,   Front and side view pictures would have been helpful. Since it sounds like it is going to be just skin scar revision, the healing time , as far as strenuous activity (gym, sex, heavy lifting) is usually 3 weeks , in my practice. Return to desk type  work, can be the following day, as long as you do not take narcotic pain medication. If you do take these medication, you may return to work and drive, once you stop taking these medication, which is usually after 2-3 days.  It is best practice to talk to your surgeon and follow his recommendation for your safe return to normal activity.                                        Best of luck,                                                          Dr Widder
