My fat has dropped from my hips causing my butt to look saggy on the sides. I am 3 months post op and I’m certain this swelling isn’t going to go away on my hips. I want to get a reduction because I do not like the “heart” shape, it looks too fake. Are there ways I can make the swelling on my hips to reduce?

Answer: Way to reduce fat after BBL. Are there ways I can make the swelling on my hips to reduce? Three months after your surgery it's still too early to judge your final results. I would continue to be patient with the healing process and give yourself another three months to judge your final look.

Answer: Way to reduce fat after BBL. Are there ways I can make the swelling on my hips to reduce? (photo) For most of my patients, I tell them that at 6 weeks there is still a great deal of swelling in the abdomen, sides, and back (or wherever the liposuction was performed); and they will only look better in 6 months. About 50% of the fat that is transferred lives and becomes a part of you. This will hold stable as long as there is no weight fluctuation. It's still too early to judge final results.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Answer: BBL and re-shaping THanks for posting your concerns. It is a bit early to make full judgements, since you will probably have some fat reabsorb in the next few months yet. With that said, if you feel there is an area on your buttocks where too much fat is present, it's possible to reduce this with a minor liposuction procedure. Before having BBL surgery, it is always important to have a thorough discussion with your doctor about your goals and the look you are going for. BBL is a fantastic procedure that can be tailored and customized to each patient's specific goals. I would encourage you to wait a bit longer, likely to 6 months post op before making any final judgements.
