Redness/bruising above tissue expander not improving, is this permanent? (Photos)

Question

I had a bi-lateral skin sparing mastectomy 8 weeks ago with tissue expanders placed at the time of surgery. I've had this redness/bruising the entire time. It does not get better or worse, only expands wth my breast. I've asked my dr and while he's an excellent dr, he's a man of very few words and just says "your still healing". What is this and is it permanent?

Appears as expansion is being done to quickly thus the red, bruise effects. r it could be cellulitis? Best to see your PS daily to be examined until the settles. Good Luck....

The redness could be related to a sling that could have been used in your reconstruction. Ask your surgeon if an allograft was used. It also may be related to the expansion. If you deflate a little and allow some time, the skin may look better. Once reconstruction completed, and if it persists, a laser treatment could be used to address the redness. Best wishes.
