What is the best way to treat a patient that has hundreds of lipomas? Some are small 0.5 cm others are near 8 cm. Majority are extremely painful upon touch. I stand because it hurts too much to sit. My pain specialist has tried a ketamine infusion, lidocaine infusion, and a mixture of medications in a lidocaine base cream. None have worked. Should I let any dermatologist just cut them out or keep searching for a dercums specialist in ca.

Answer: How do I find a dr that understands dercum's disease and has had success treating individuals with this rare disorder? (photo)
Horizontal scars are important when planning lipoma removal on the forehead. I would suggest a small incision approach. Best, Dr. KaramanoukianRealself100 Surgeon
Thank you for your question. Yes, this is most likely normal. You may want to send a picture to your surgeon, just to make sure - but typically, swelling travels downward. So, if you had something removed on your forehead, then the swelling will continue to travel down to your eyes and nose....
There are different types of local anesthetics used for lipoma removal. The numbness from longterm anesthetic should wear off within 24 hours at the most. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian#Realself100 Surgeon
