Do you recommend the Threading Face lift? (Photo)

Question

I would like to know the pros and cons of the treatment. I was told that if the sutures do not dissolve, it can cause scarring and show lumps through your skin.

Thank you for your question and photo. Based on this limited view photo, you have a lot of loose skin, thick skin and loss of subcutaneous volume. A thread lift will not fix these for you. You are not a candidate for a thread lift. You would do better with a facelift/necklift and fat grafts to the face, and in the long run it will be more cost effective and longer lasting. See a board certified plastic surgeon for an in person consultation/evaluation. Based on the one limited photograph, there is extensive wrinkles, and inelastic skin in the face and neck.  A lower face and neck lift procedure to be required to rejuvenate your face.  The goals of a lower face neck lift are to tighten  loose facial and neck skin, tighten loose facial  and neck muscles, and remove any fat deposits in the neck along with a platysma-plasty.

In general, thread lifts have limited effects for multiple reasons and provide minimal results even in younger age patients. The amount of aging in the single photo that you provided indicates a more traditional approach with face and necklift and skin resurfacing. Most surgeons experience with threadlifting has been very disappointing (including myself).

PDO Threadlifts are immediate and you will see improvement over 3-6 months.  They are absorbable threads that will 100% dissolve over time.   Lumps only appear if placed too superficial or the improper type is used.  Threads may be removed or dissolved with a RF device (which most med spas have) if ever required but this is uncommon. There are three different types of threadlifts (smooth, twist and barb).  They can add volume, texture, as well as lift areas on the face and neck.   You will see cellular rejuvenation and improved collagen.  We schedule our threadlift patients with our MD or RN Master Injectors for a consultation prior to treatment.  This way the patient knows what to expect and if this is the right treatment for them!
