What to realistically expect 6 months post hair transplant?

I'm reaching the 6th month mark in a few days and am wondering if I should be satisfied or upset with my results thus far. My crown was completely empty prior to the transplant and, while I now see hairs, it's still "bald." I've had considerable hair growth in my hairline and mid-head section, but I have a lot of empty spots in my temples and crown area. Will new hair still penetrate the skin after 6 months?

Hello and thank you for your question.  Six months post op you should be patient. I realize that is difficult because you want to see the results but please be patient.  You should start seeing some growth but realistically it usually takes at least 12 maybe 18 months.  Hang in there.
