2 months post op Breast Augmentation, my breast haven't dropped yet. Is this normal? (photo)

Question

My breasts are still sensitive, especially to the side of my breast and around the nipple area. I still can't put an underwire bra because my breast did not drop yet. I went from an A cup to a C cup. I am just wondering if this is normal? How long will it take? I can't even squish them.. They are also uncomfortable, but the pain went away. Should I be concerned? Or my body is taking a long time to heal??

It typically takes about 3 to 4 months until your breasts settle. By that time the bottom portion of your breasts will fill out becoming more natural appearance. This phenomenon is called drop and fluff. Please follow your surgeon's advice on how to enhance your results. A tensor bandage wrapped around the top portion of your breasts can help.

Its still very early, and while most of the dropping occurs in the first 6 weeks its not uncommon to take 3 months or even 6 to fully settle and the tissues to relax. The bigger the implants and the smaller you were prior the longer it takes. I will sometimes have patients spend a few hours a night without a bra during this period. Things look good right now and I suspect as your tissues relax and react to the implant it will take care of itself. As far as the sensitivity goes, this is common and some massage and pressure on the area can help, but as always discuss these issues with your surgeon.

Thanks for the question but you are still early in the recovery process.  In another 1-2 months your implants will settle into a more natural appearance.  Remember every patient has a different recovery process so just give it some more time.

Usually  breast implants will drop in one to two months. Occasionally ,it my take up to three. Good luck.
