I had Bellafill under my eyes and it has aged me. How can I make it better? (photos)

BellaFill is a great filler for structural support, acne scars and facial contouring but, at the same time, Bellafill is not really for fine lines or in areas with soft delicate skin. Bellafill is becoming increasing popular and is FDA approved for facial augmentation. Semi-permanent fillers such as Bellafill can cause granuloma formation. Removal of the granulomas is difficult in some areas of the face and easier in others. Treatment depends on the severity of the reaction and the amount of granuloma formation.

bellafill is a permanent filler and can only be removed by surgical excision, It cannot be dissolved, and it is not recommended for under eye treatment

I would agree with Dr. Weiner in that at this point only surgical removal will provide a satisfactory result. The good new is that a lower blepharoplasty approach or incision will heal exceptionally well so in the end you should get a very nice result. I know that may be frustrating to hear as most patients are seeking fillers under the eyes to avoid surgery but I just mean to say that the surgical treatment is both a very good one and will provide an outstanding result. I also agree with Dr. Weiner with regards to the use of Bellafill in that area - it should be injected deep and very conservatively. 

Nothing short of surgical excision, blepharoplasty, possible laser will improve this problem. I don't think the injector was experience with Bellafill in this area. Over 50% of the problems with Bellafill are related to undereye injections. I only inject small amounts in the area and I always use cannulas for this. I will place Bellafill deeply only, and then layer a Restylane product more superficially. Don't bother will more steroids, injections - you are wasting time, money, and perhaps making things worse.
