Is it pointless to get a Breast lift prior to having kids?

I'm very interested in having a Breast augmentation by was told by a surgeon that for the best results i should have breast lift as well. My question is that since I do plan on having children at some point and breast feeding, would I be pointless to get a lift now?

There are three factors that can change your breasts after a breast lift - weight fluctuations, pregnancies and aging.  You can not do anything about aging... I advise patients if they are planning further pregnancies that they will likely want another breast procedure

implant will be placed too low.That is
why your surgeon is recommending a simultaneous lift.The advantage of a simultaneous lift is that
by lifting your breast higher on the chest wall it is possible to align your
areola, breast tissue and implant over the bony prominence of the chest wall
maximizing anterior projection with a minimal size implant.Small round textured silicone gel implants
placed retro-pectoral look and feel more natural, are more stable, less likely
to ripple or have complications needing revision.I recommend you follow your surgeon’s advice
and get the lift at the same time as the implant to get the superior

Thanks for your inquiry.  It is not necessarily pointless having a lift prior to kids but you should be aware that pregnancy could might change your breasts and affect the final result.  You should also speak to your PS about your particular breast lift operation and the potential impact on breast feeding (if this is important to you).

will depend upon your outlook on your ability to fully breast feed in the future.  Any incisions around your nipple will diminish your ability to breast feed.  Implants should not impact that if done through an inframammary incision.  If you could benefit from the improvement in your life now, then go for it but realize you may need formula to satisfy your newborn's needs.  If breast feeding is life to you, postpone until you're done having children.

Generally speaking, the times that breasts will sag the most is after weight loss, pregnancies and menopause. So waiting until after pregnancies for a lift does make sense. Now if you don't plan to have any children in the near future, you could have a breast lift now with the understanding that you might need something after pregnancy. Another possible option. depending on how much sag you have, might be a breast implant. Although this technically is not the same as a breast lift, you can look lifted by filling out the upper part in the right patient.

Breast lift is a cosmetic procedure that is never needed but often wanted.  If you are in good health and have reasonable expectations and do not smoke, you should be a good candidate.  The question you ask regarding undergoing a breast lift prior to pregnancy is common.  The answer is patient specific, meaning it is up to you.  I think my colleagues have given good advice.  Yes it can be done but you must understand that the result may be less than desirable if you do get pregnant in the future.  In this case, a revision would be needed.  With that being said, if finances are not an issue and you would like to have a lift, the desire to become pregnant in the future is not a contraindication to breast lift.
