Is it normal to feel a "friction" or "rubbing" when massaging an implant?

Just remember that no 2 breasts ever look the same and no 2 breasts ever heal at the same rate. Capsular contracture doesn't present for several months to years after surgery so continue massaging and following up with your operating surgeon. Good luck!

This is a normal finding that does not happen in everyone.  It should go away.  It is not an indicator of capsular contracture.   Keep doing the massage.

Thank you for your question.  At 5 weeks it is too early for a CC to have formed, so the painless friction is more likely the result of swelling to both your skin and chest muscle, limiting the amount of space that the implant has to be able to move.  Allow your results a couple of more months to mature and this sensation should spontaneously disappear.  Hope that this helps.  

Most likely what you are experiencing is normal.  It takes time for your body to adjust to the new change and often the two breasts do not behave in the same way.  Most of these differences even out over time.I do not believe you are dealing with CC.  Follow up with your surgeon to confirm my thoughts.Best Wishes,nana Mizuguchi

It is normal to feel some friction when massaging the implants and also normal for this to occur only on one side. If the breasts look and feel the same otherwise, there is no reason to worry about an early capsular contracture.

Each breast can be a bit different in sensation and recovery. This is likely normal.  A capsular contracture does not usually present this early.
