The price of Botox operation depends on several factors such as the difficulty of your case and your request for your operation area. In my practice, prices for Botox operation reaches from 325 Euro up to 350 Euro range. If you want to learn more you can visit my profile.
The average person requires about 20 units to treat horizontal forehead "worry" lines, 20 units for the glabella frown line, and 12 units to treat periorbital "crows feet" around the eyes. Despite having said that, however, there really is no such thing as the "average person." I have been treating patients with Botox for aesthetic reasons since 1991 and have found that individual variations can be considerable and optimal treatment results depend upon respecting and addressing these individual variations, rather than depending, as so often do novice injectors, on a "cookbook" approach to treating everyone. As a result I personally prefer to charge according to the area. If you go to a surgeon for a gall bladder operation, for example, you don't expect him/her to charge you for each package of suture or material that is used or each square of sponge gauze used. Instead you would expect the surgeon to know his/her job well enough to give you a fixed final fee in advance, which would remain unchanged, regardless of how many stitches or gauze are finally required to get the job done. Make sure you vet your physician well and ask to see his/her before and after photos before agreeing to proceed. Good luck to you..
Thank you for sharing your question with the realself community. Every physician chooses to charge for Botox differently. Some will charge per unit while others charge per area. The most important decision to make is to choose a board certified injector who has experience treating the area you would like addressed. This will minimize complications and give you the best results. Good luck!
Hello and thank you for your question. Botox is charged by the unit. Cost varies based on geographic region and surgeon expertise. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. Reish, M.D. Harvard-trained plastic surgeon
Well, it never made sense to me either!I'll go out on a limb here and suggest that when you pay for area, you may be paying too much. The "forehead" for one person may require 8 injections and you may only need 3-- so why pay the same price?? I wouldn't!In my practice the pricing is based on how many units are used, so you are only paying for the customized plan that fits your needs- and your purse. I may recommend to you 5 injections for in between the brows, but if your budget only allows for 3, then I will spread that out to try to give you the best result possible. You can always come back and add more.Honesty is the best policy! In good health,Ellen Mahony, MD
Thank you for your question. In my experience, Botox price depends on the number of areas being treated. So the glabellar area (frown lines) would be one area, forehead (horizontal lines) a second area, and the crows feet a third area. So however many units it takes to properly treat those areas the price is the same.I do know that in some practices, Botox fees are by units. But that is not my experience.
Hi kat421,Thanks for your question. Some physicians charge by the area and some by the unit. At our clinic, we charge by the unit for most area as it seems fairer to charge for the amount of botox actually required to achieve the desired result. Patient A may need 20 units to relax the muscles around the outer eye area (crow's feet), whereas Patient B may require 30 units. As the medicament has a cost per unit, it makes more sense to charge patient A less than Patient B. However, for certain areas that require very few units, we charge by the area as there is a minimum charge for the act of injecting. In this case, the patient would only be treating that 1 small area requiring very few units (i.e., chin, gummy smile, nose, horizontal forehead lines). However if the small area requiring very few units was part of a more comprehensive BOTOX treatment, we would charge by the unit. Hope this helps. Best, Manish Khanna, MD FRCPC
Some doctors charge by the unit and some by the area but it cannot be stated that one costs more than the other. see a board certified dermatologist and discuss fees
For a Botox treatment to be effective, every area of the face or body requires a different number of units to be used, therefore making the price different for every area where botox is being injected. Good luck from New York City
My office charges per area. I don't think it makes a difference. It's all about achieving the desired results. If a patient needs more units to achieve their result, then I inject more.
I don't think anything is "happening to your" besides stimulating the facial nerve that moves the forehead muscles. The good news is that if you don't like it in 3 months it should be totally gone. I would recommend that you relax and don't panic, follow up with a doctor and just...
You can keep yourself looking young and also maintain your ability to express yourself in your roles if you receive Botox from an expert. Botox is only supposed to relax the muscles, not freeze them. I hope this helps.
Botox can sometimes work too good. We like a subtle lift, but occasionally this lift gets over exaggerated and causes vertical lines. I would recommend less Botox per site, better even injections, and place injections higher above the brow the next time. Kristine Brecht, MD Seattle, WA
