Can I use hairpiece or hair system two months after FUE? (Photo)

The scalp heals 10-14 days after surgery. You can begin wearing loosely fitting caps or beanies 24 hours after a hair transplant. As for hair systems, it is generally a good idea to avoid abrasive surfaces (such as the underside of a hair piece) as it could erode the grafted area, potentially limiting growth. In addition, adhesives such as glue and tape can cause inflammatory responses and irritation, which can also negatively affect yield. Instead of such adhesives, I would recommend a clip-on hair piece in order to minimize the amount of pressure on the grafted area.

It is best to contact your doctor about post operative care and instructions since each doctor has a different regimen.  After two months it would be reasonable to wear a hair piece. 

By 2 months post-procedure the grafts are completely incorporated into the scalp and may had already started to grow. You can do anything you want to your hair at this point without risking injury to grafts.

I have no problems with my patients to use a hair sytem after two months of the hair transplant surgery but I recommend to remove the system everyday and to use tape to attach the system to the scalp. In your case I will suggest you to ask your surgeon his opinion about the hair system. Good luck.

After two months it should be safe to wear your system- many people do until the new hair comes in.

hair systems after hair transplantation is not a good idea especially if you use tapes and glues which will almost certainly pull out the new hairs as they grow
