Although this shows more bruising than what is typical with Smartlipo, this appears to be normal healing and should resolve within 2 weeks. I recommend taking Arnica supplements to help with this type of bruise.Good luck!

I perform hundreds of Smartlipo procedures annually, and the amount of swelling and bruising varies. This is totally normal. Bruising usually goes through stages, first looking purple or blue when blood first enters skin tissue. As the red blood cells die off, they leave an iron staining (hemosiderosis) that appears yellow. Fourteen days is longer than average for lipo drainage, but if there are no signs of infection, it is not problematic. If the area was very large, the drainage can last longer than if the area was small. Massage can also force additional fluid out of the tissues more than a week out.
