Today is 14 days after my smart lipo, but I still have leaking from my lower abdomen....

It is not normal to have drainage this far after surgery.  My suggestion is to have the fluid cultured and suggest to your surgeon to consider an ultrasound to the area to ensure there are no fluid collections.  Otherwise, continue tight compression, begin a good exercise routine, and continue topical wound care.  Best, Dr. Emer. 

Fourteen days is longer than average for lipo drainage, but if there are no signs of infection, it is not problematic. If the area was very large, the drainage can last longer than if the area was small. Massage can also force additional fluid out of the tissues more than a week out.

As you are recovering from Smartlipo you will
notice a change in your body shape and may experience drainage, swelling and
bruising. These are all normal side effects and will eventually subside. Follow
up with your surgeon to make sure you are healing properly. Good luck in your

Leaking after the first several days following liposuction is rare, but possible. This is usually more likely when excellent compression was not possible during the first 3 days after the procedure, for any number of reasons. Seromas (inflammatory fluid collections) are very rare after liposuction, yet also possible. I recommend going back to see your surgeon regarding these continued concerns that you are having.
