Thank you very much for sharing your concerns with us. Eight days after Breast Reduction, it's not time enough to express a valid opinion of results. On the other hand, generally to avoid the normal p.o. swelling, I recommend to limit the arms movement for two weeks. Also it's not advisable to carry weight and take the antiinflamatory painkillers drugs. Finally, I recommend you always use a therapeutic bra.Respectfully,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-
Sometimes after breast reduction there may be some healing fluid beneath the skin. This may be a seroma. You should get an exam by your plastic surgeon to see if drainage may be necessary.
Hello, and thanks for your question. It's unclear what's causing this sensation for you. There can be fluid after a breast reduction, which is normal to some extent. It is unusual to have so much fluid that you could hear it with motion, but it could be that it is a different sensation that feels as though there is fluid. Overall, it's just difficult to say without an exam, so I would recommend that you see your surgeon so he/she can examine you. Things to be immediately concerned about would be if the breasts are increasing in size and getting very tight and/or red. This is especially concerning if it is only happening to one side, as that could indicate an expanding collection of fluid. Otherwise, swelling overall and some redness around incisions is normal. I wish you the best in healing.
Hi. A small volume of fluid sloshing about would not be uncommon during the first two weeks. In the absence of other symptoms or problems it is not itself a problem and most often resolves spontaneously.
Please schedule an evaluation with your boardcertified plastic surgeon to discuss your concerns. You surgeon will want to beaware that you have post-operative questions. Best of luck!
Thank you for your pictures. The fullness at the upper portion of your breasts depends on your breast tissue and the technique that the plastic surgeon uses for your breast reduction.
