White pustules on the nose after surgery? (photos)

Question

I had my surgery a week ago and got the cast off today and I was surprised with a series of whitehead looking spots on the sides of my nose. They look really disgusting and I was prescribed an antibiotic cream to apply on it 2 times a day. My doctor said it was normal but didn't specify how long they would last for... If anybody knows I'd quite like an answer!

In my practice we take an alcohol wipe and rub them off.  Then we used peroxide every 12 hours for a day.  I view them more as milia rather than pimples.  This will be fine from what I can see. Best Wishes!!

mikhailana,Those skin blemishes are common following removal of the nasal cast. Now that the cast has been removed they will resolve quickly. I don't know exactly how long they last, but I can't recall seeing them 1 week after the cast has been removed on my own postop patients. Just follow your surgeons instructions and resist the urge to do anything more aggressive -- you've been through a lot, and it wouldn't do to compromise your result with a skin infection.
