Can filler be dissolved 5 years later after it has spread?

Hello! Migration with filler is not uncommon. Incorrect placement of filler can cause these issues. I would consider getting your filler dissolved and then once dissolved possibly reinject once you are ready. Wait about 2-4 weeks after dissolving to reinject the new filler.

Hi there! It’s possible that your filler migrated and didn’t completely dissolve. If there is still filler lingering along your lips, you can have an experienced provider inject hyaluronidase into the treatment area to dissolve the remaining product. Hope this helps!

An in person evaluation is needed to know for sure, but if the filler is still present it can still be treated. Hyaluronidase can be injected to dissolve filler that is present. An assessment of the area to be treated will first need to be done.

We know filler hangs around far longer than initially thought. MRI studies have shown that it can still be present 8-9 years later... and irritatingly it does seem to hang around longer if it's not looking great.You should definitely be able to dissolve any residual filler but you may also find that the tissue itself has become a little 'stretched' over time.
