Is dilute Sculptra safer than traditional HA Fillers? Will results be less noticeable?

My practitioner informed me that although Sculptra cannot be dissolved, it can be injected more dilute than it once was... Does that mean results will be less or that occlusion is less likely than traditional fillers?

If you are looking for immediate cosmetic benefits, durable results, respecting your budget and comaprable safety, think robust HA fillers in the hands of an expert, cosmetic dermatologist injector. I was one of the early adopters of Sculptra since its results were purported to last about two years. But it was expensive, didn't yield immediate results and typically required three treatment sessions to obtain visible results. However, when robust, natural HA fillers came on the scene and offered immediate results with little to no significant downtime, were reasonably priced, and produced results that could last 1.5 years or longer, I stopped using Sculptra altogether. Sculptra is not free of the risk for the complications that concern you, and in more dilute concentrations will be less collagen stimulating. And, if you are looking for safety, you would be wise to make sure that you consult with an experienced HA filler injector. Hope this helps and best of luck.

You need to see your injector again to fully understand the differences between Sculptra (polylactic acid) to HA fillers...The Sculptra is a bio stimulator to make your own collagen, tissue grow. While HA fillers, fill an area. Hyper dilution is allowing more dispersion of the product to effectively increase the anatomic zones to be stimulated. You really need to fully understand these concepts before having injections so you will not be disappointed, this is called 'informed consent'.

Because Sculptra is injected significantly less often than HA Fillers, there is less data on its safety. However, even dilated, it should have the same safety profile of fillers. The question, therefore, is the effectiveness and convenience of each.  Sculptra takes multiple sessions over an extended time to achieve the same results as a single injection if filler. I, therefore, quit using Sculptra many years ago and see no reason for use of Sculptra except that it is profitable for the injector.

Sculptra stimulates your own collagen formation so its really not a filler.  With the dilution being a little more and the proper post care instructions the chances of granulomas are decreased.
Sculptra is a beautiful product as long as your patient.
