Will acid reflux impact healing from breast augmentation/cause issues?

I recommend an in person consultation with a plastic surgeon to discuss your goals and be measured. You should be able to do fine even with reflux, especially if this is controlled with your GI doctor.

Acid reflux will not negatively impact your implants or the results of surgery. Be sure to discuss any medications that you take with your surgeon and GI specialists to help make recovery safe and well managed for you.

No, your acid reflux will not damage your implants in any way, but surgery is stress and stress may increase your issues. Be sure to take your medications for acid reflux. Also, be checked for food allergies for many will present as acid reflux.

GERD should not impact the procedure itself and won't compromise safety. In most cases, an endotracheal tube is inserted into your trachea to prevent any reflux of gastric acid during the procedure. GERD will not affect healing and will not irritate the implant. However, if your GERD is severe, it may impact your postoperative course. Control your GERD BEFORE the procedure. You should keep your head and upper body elevated when in bed. You should continue antacid therapy as directed by your gastroenterologist. The vast majority of individuals with GERD undergo breast augmentation without any difficulty.
