I think Sculptra and Radiesse can both give good results in the cheeks. Treatment with Radiesse could potentially be done in just one session and Sculptra treatment normally involves a series of treatments to give gradually improvement. However, Sculptra will give longer lasting results than Radiesse.
This is a really good question that I get from several of my patients who are thinner and don't want the overfilled look but need volume. The answer to your question is BOTH. The reason I say both is because they work differently but yet work well together. You can start slow with Sculptra to stimulate your natural collegen then a few weeks later inject Radiesse for immediate but softer lift in smaller amounts. As the Sculptra starts to work several weeks to months later, Radiesse is starting to absorb and Sculptra has already started to stimulate your own collegen. In the long run it a more natural softening over time and then continue with maintenance Sculptra yearly.
I prefer Sculptra over Radiesse to lift your jowls as it will provide more collagen and last for a much longer period of time. Also Sculptra can be used in almost any area of the face, to produce new collagen, and you don't have to worry about lumps that could happen with Radiesse. Thermage FLX also works very well for tightening the skin, especially in the lower face. I outlined most of this on my Sculptra page which is linked to the answer. Best, Dr. Green
You don't really have jowls in your face, but your face has gotten considerably thinner over the years. That volume loss is caused by loss of fat in the face. The single best way to restore that volume and youthful appearance is with the use of your own fat. When fat grafting is performed by a plastic surgeon with lots of experience in fat crafting techniques, the results are natural and practically permanent. I hope this helps and good luck from New York City plastic surgery
Actually, your best choice would be BellaFill, because it has been specifically approved by the FDA for that purpose, and it lasts longer than Sculptra! Another treatment that is very helpful after the BellaFill has done its job (ie. at about 5 months post-treatment) is to have a Vampire Facial....
You should be able to add sculptra even after having had implants. Sculptra feels more natural and should improve what you are describing. While typically all this should be fine, be sure to get it checked out by your doctor to confirm that you are a candidate for the procedure!
Thank you for your question. I prefer to inject Sculptra with a cannula unless trying to create a cross hatch pattern in which a needle is a better option. The injection technique used is going to be at the preference of the injector and the circumstances. Both techniques are acceptable...
