Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) works in a completely different way than Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections with regards to the prevention of hair loss. In my practice I often recommend that both be used together to increase the likelihood that hair loss can be stopped. So it is not a problem at all to use the helmet in between PRP injections. The effect of the PRP injections will not be altered.
Utilizing the iRestore laser helmet will not have a negative effect to your PRP treatments. They could actually work really well together. It is important to know that visible hair growth is observed around 8-10 weeks post-FIRST treatment of PRP. So if you are starting the iRestore helmet in the middle of monthly PRP treatments, it will be hard to determine if the PRP is specifically working for you. I would advise starting the iRestore helmet after your 3rd, maybe your 4th, PRP treatment, once you've examined the effects of the initial PRP treatments. Best, Dr. Anil Shah
Provided your PRP was performed with injections, there should be a synergy between a laser helmet and the PRP. If your PRP was performed topically with micro-needling, you need to wait one day. I recommend the subdermal Depo injection technique for PRP Therapy. Find a PRP expert. Good luck.
In our practice we recommend that the helmet is used in addition to the PRP injections. While the injections are once per month, the helmet can be used 2-3 times per week. The combination of the two very different treatments, helps to maximize the potential for the stimulation of the hair follicle.
Go for it! Low level laser light therapy doesn't cause major problems or interactions so that is the bueaty of it. If you can use it on a pregnant person it means it is pretty damn safe! The should actually work well together. For me the biggest downside of the LLLT helmets is simply that people forget to continue using them. If you have the will power it is a great device! Hope that helps!
These work in combination. However, if you add laser in the middle of figuring out if PRP works you and you get an improvement in your hair .... then you'll have no idea whether it was the PRP that help or whether it was the laser that helped or whether it was both. If you do not get an improvement in your hair you will have saved a lot of time because you can then proceed to abandon both treatments as you've proven to yourself they both don't help. Be sure to sit down with a hair loss physician and come up with a solid plan. Hair loss treatments are life long which means 60, 70, 80 years of continued use for many people. It's tiring, expensive and sometime even emotional and one needs to know what's working and what's not. Plain and simple.
Laser, PRP, micro-needling, and stem cell injections all work in synergy. I would also recommend a baseline microscopic evaluation to examine your hair for miniaturization and density.I would be careful as of type of laser you chose. They have to have the right amount of laser in order for them to work.
