400cc submuscular HP. Ever since I had my surgery 12 weeks ago my implants have sat high on my chest creating a "shelf-like" appearance from the side view with low nipples and a slight separation of my real tissue and the implant. My PS prescribed me Zafirlukast about 4 weeks ago due to implants feeling firm/still sitting high. Do you think they have "dropped" and this is their final position? Any input is appreciated!
Answer: Done coming down? Thanks for this question. Most of the drop and fluff occurs by 3 months or 12 weeks, but it varies depending on the tightness of the skin and breast and the size of the breast implant. You should continue to follow your plastic surgeon's advice and recommendations for the best outcome. Warmest regards, Dr. ALDO

Answer: Will my implants continue to drop? Currently 12 weeks post op Thank you for your pictures and questions. I think that you still have some settling to do. I would not call your results final until at least 6-12 months. You should ask your surgeon to instruct you on some exercises or devices that may assist in the implant settling. If after a year, you are still not happy with the results, you can discuss a revision with your surgeon. I will guess that this will not be required in the end.Best of luck!

Answer: Will my implants continue to drop? Currently 12 weeks post op Thank you for your question. Your plastic surgeon will always be your best resource when it comes to an accurate assessment of your situation, advice, predictions, and/or meaningful reassurance. Generally speaking, breast implants will "drop" into the pocket that was created during surgery and massaging the implants downward may assist in the dropping of the implants after surgery (for those patients who want to help with the settling of the implants). The rate of breast implant "settling" may depend on factors such as size of breast implant pocket dissected, tightness of the overlying skin/muscle layers, size of breast implant utilized, and concerns such as pre-existing breast asymmetry. Normally, it takes about 3-6 months (for some patients longer) to see the final result. It is very common for one side to settle faster than the other. Again, best to follow your plastic surgeon for more specifics. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be pleased with long-term.

Answer: Breast Augmentation - Post Op Swelling? Thank you for your question. You are still early in the post-operative period. It typically takes 3 - 6 months for the swelling to subside and and implants to settle into proper position. Please discuss your concerns with your board certified plastic surgeon. Also, make sure you follow all of your plastic surgeons post-operative instructions regarding level of physical activity and use of a support bra. Hope this helps and good luck with your recovery.
