Any extreme treatment of an implant potentially puts it at risk for rupture or leakage. The risk would probably be higher with saline implants. However, it's difficult to say or quantify exactly as it depends upon the level of trauma inflicted to the implant. The amount of force in a single episode two rupture implant is quite high, but repeated traumas over the years do add up. Discuss this further with your surgeon.Best of luck!Dr. SubbioBoard-Certified Plastic SurgeonNewtown Square/Philadelphia, PA
Thank you for sharing your question. In isolation your implants are unlikely to leak or rupture from the B&D/S&M play but over time you may cause weakening of the implant shell to the point of rupture. Talk to your surgeon about your concerns, they are in the best position to offer reassurance.
especially as the implants age and get older. With any activity in life, you just have to decide if you're accepting of the risks, especially when dealing with activities that you may enjoy and makes life a joy. They eventually will break so live your life and if it does, have a replacement then.
Extreme trauma is not good long time on your breast tissue or implants. As long as you are not being physically harmed with bruising and bleeding, your breasts and your implants should be OK. If you wind up bruised and beaten, you need a new partner.
Breast implants are strong to compression. But extreme pressures or certain maneuvers could cause a tear or injury to your bodies tissue or capsule around the implant. Bleeding or fluid can occur and need treatment.Best to follow your gut feeling.
Thanks for the interesting question. The silicone shell around breast implants is pretty tough. That being said, it's not invincible. Prolonged pressure on an implant can cause weakness in the shell which can lead to eventual rupture. Whenever the breast implant shell gets a fold in it the two opposing sides are then able to rub together causing a tear into the shell. So depending on what types of activities you're doing, you might be compromising the integrity of the implant shell. Depending on what type of implants you have, a ruptured saline implant will deflate immediately while you may or may not notice if there is a tear in a silicone implant. If you have any concerns about your implant it's best to see a plastic surgery for evaluation and possible imaging studies. I hope this helps!~Dr. Sieber
Hello,To avoid disappointment and confusion, cup sizes should NOT ever be discussed. There is no defined relationship between implant size and cup sizes, and there is no way to predict or guarantee a result. Instead, in-office sizing with a snug, unpadded bra and sizers should be performed to d...
It is normal for the breasts to have a different sensation or even numbness in parts during the healing process. Most often, these sensations will improve over time, usually by 6-12 months. There probably isn't very much you can do to improve this, expect to have some patience during this time...
Sorry to hear about your high implants. Pre-op photos may be helpful to see why they are so high. If I had to guess, you probably had constricted breasts which means the distance from the nipple to the lower breast fold is too short. To correct this, your PS would have had to lower the fol...
