Headache and drowsiness after using Rogaine solution?

Question

I just used rogaine solution for the first time tonight and after an hour from taking it I have a headache and drowsiness, is it normal? And what can I do to stop the headache?

If you have side effects from using a drug such as Rogaine, you need to see a doctor.  It may not be a candidate for using Rogaine.

Whilst the symptoms you have described could be due to the use of minoxidil they could also just have been coincidental. I suggest you wait a few days and try using it again. If the symptoms occur again then they are more likely to be related. You can then decide whether to persevere with using the Rogaine and see if the symptoms go away using simple over the counter painkillers to control the headaches.

There are many reasons for headaches and dizziness, but yes, this could be a side effect of minoxidil - especially with the timing you describr. Be sure to speak to your physician. Some individuals are very sensitive to minoxidil and in such cases this drug can not be used.Seek medical advice for a full evaluation.A few of the side effects of minoxidil include:headachesdizzinessheart palpitationshair sheddinghair growth on the faceA whole range of other less common side effects are also possible.

If you had headache, then that is a known side effect of this drug. If you find that you can not tolerate it as many people can't, then just stop it.

There are many side effects to using rogaine, one of which is headache. Read the label and the possible side effects and if you are experiencing them, you need to stop.
