There is not much you can achieve from resources on the Internet with a complicated medical problem that has been evaluated.  I realize you are seeking opinions, but the Internet is not a great source for personal medical treatment options and recommendations.  You will likely end up with conflicting information from doctors who don't have the complete "picture" that will lead to more confusion.  You have a complicated problem. If you don't like your doctors treatment recommendations, you need to seek another doctor for a second opinion.  You have to understand your diagnosis and the benefits of any treatment options.  I do not know how pumpkin seed will help if you have a scarring type of alopecia.  Dr Jeff Donovan here makes a concise general summary of Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia (CCCA)

Thinning Hair -- Rogaine, Propecia, Viviscal, Progesterone, PRPIf you have thinning hair you really need an evaluation to see if it is genetic or from another cause like stress or autoimmune. Scarring type alopecias may also require steroid injections or topical solutions and hair practices (such as picking, brushing, coloring etc will have to be minimized).  If it is determined to be genetic there are many options and traditional treatments like rogaine foam and propecia pills can be used. I have great success in my practice using injectable progesterone and prp to the scalp. Postmenopausal women also benefit from spironolactone. Central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia (CCCA) is a scarring alopecia that occurs in women with afro-textured hair. Many factors go into the decision on what treatments to use.In general treatment for CCCA includes:topical steroidstopical calcineurin inhibitorssteroid injectionsoral anti-inflammatories such as doxycycline or tetracyclinereplacement of iron and vit D if lowpossible use of minoxidil reduction in damaging hair care practices

Then you must stop messing with it. Don't pick it. This has to be managed by a good doctor and not by a doctor over the internet. This is not an easy problem so just taking a steroid because some doctor tells you to do this, will not solve the problem.
