I had liposuction 6 months ago to have a fat transfer to my breasts. My stomach is now disfigured. The skin above my belly button appears loose and there is irregular areas. Liposuction revision, fat transfer to stomach or reverse tummy tuck?? The first photo is before the lipo, the second is after.

Answer: Liposuction of abdomen and poor results You have some uneven fat removal and some "lumpy" areas, and also loose skin. This can sometimes be corrected with some special techniques using additional liposuction. If not, you will need tummy tuck to fix the issue. In person consultation is the way to decide.Talk to your surgeon, but consider finding another American Board of Plastic Surgery certified surgeon who does lots of liposuction and body shaping to help you decide your options.

Answer: Disfigurement from liposuction I'm really done liposuction especially liposuction that was over treated can be difficult at times not possible to correct. As you stated treatment options include revision liposuction, fat transfer a combination of both or a skin tightening procedure such as an abdominoplasty. A standard of abdominoplasty would probably be a better option then a reverse one. For patient to have a lot of scar tissue under their skin abdominoplasties or less successful because the skin does not stretch normally. Often some improvements can be made but it's a tedious process and it may require multiple sessions especially if it involves fat transfer. The primary reason for transfer is limited when correcting excessive liposuction is the lack of tissue to graft into. Grafting too much fat in one thin area leads to almost all the grafted fat dissipating overtime. Often a better approach is to graph conservative amounts of fat on a repeating basis sometimes requiring two or even three sessions. Your situation is too complex to give a simple yes or no answer to and you definitely need several in person consultations if you were going to pursue an attempt of correcting this. My practice is devoted exclusively to liposuction and fat transfer procedures. Even aggressive liposuction should never leave the type of results you ended up with. I'm sure this is been devastating and the idea of having to pay for more procedures is a painful one. Hopefully you can find a talented compassionate experienced local board-certified plastic surgeon who has extensive experience with liposuction and fat transfer to help you out.
