Burning sensation after liposuction. What could this be?

So it's been two months after my liposuction and I have experience some burning sensation from the inside, which i been told it's normal. I had my surgery 4/4/17. I been receiving massages and wear my garment through out the day. This morning when I woke up i was in pain. On my stomach when i would barely touch it i had this shocking feeling and it hurt really bad. Right now I'm feeling like needle pricks. Would could this be?

Pain can be variable after liposuction and can be managed with oral neurontin. If it persists, I recommend following up with your Doctor. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen along with lymphatic massage and your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. HelloA burning sensation in the sites that had liposuction, is a common occurrence, more is in the back and more if an external energy device such as vaser or laser was used.

What you are describing sounds like nerve pain. Sometimes, during the procedure, a nerve can get stretched. Once it starts to come back "online", it can feel like tingling, burning pain. This should resolve in time. However, if it doesn't or gets worse then see your surgeon. Best of luck.

Hello. From your  description, it sounds like you are experiencing neuropathic pain due to irritation of a nerve. During liposuction sometimes nerves on the skin or subcutaneous tissue get stretched or disrupted. This is not uncommon and causes the unpleasant sensations like you are describing. This should settle with time . If not settling or getting worse, see you surgeon.

Thanks for the great question. What you're describing sounds like a nerve issue. What can sometimes happen during liposuction is that nerves can get dinged or stretched, causing them to not work as well. Once they repair and start working again, they can cause pain like you're describing. This type of pain almost always gets better with time as the nerve gets used to working again.
