Is it normal for other areas to swell up after liposuction?

Yes, this can be typical. Swelling can last 3-6 months after your procedure. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. Yes. You can experience swelling in other parts of the body other than where you were treated. Having said that, make sure that you are keeping your weight steady. If not, that could be the problem.... 

Your question is a common one, and you are absolutely correct that swelling can be all over the place. When we do liposuction we have to give you a fair amount of fluid through the IV as well as fluid injected with numbing medicine in the areas liposuctioned. This fluid holds lots of salt and it takes months not weeks for all of the salts and fluids to go away. This is one of the reasons we use garments and can suggest lymphatic massage to help clear out the fluids a few weeks quicker. Be patient it will keep getting better, but often people are only at 70% of their result at 3 or 4 months. Thank you for your question. Swelling is common after lipo and sometimes gravitate to areas where procedure not done. If it is already 2 months I recommend you to see your PS for evaluation.
