Age by itself does not automatically rule out a facelift. The bigger questions are your overall health, blood pressure, heart and lung status, diabetes risk, smoking history, medications such as blood thinners, and whether you can safely have anesthesia. At 5 ft 5 in and 200 lb, your BMI is also part of the risk discussion, because higher weight can increase anesthesia risk and may affect swelling, wound healing, and the durability of the result. A facelift can still be reasonable for some healthy patients in their 70s, but it should be planned more carefully than in a younger low-risk patient. You would need an in-person facial exam, medical clearance from your primary doctor or cardiologist if relevant, and a surgeon who is comfortable saying no or suggesting a smaller/staged procedure if the risk is too high. Chronological age matters less than whether your medical condition and goals make the operation safe and worthwhile.
