Thank you for your question what to do about fat pockets below your buttocks. Thank you for your history and your two pictures. The pictures that you provided depict excess skin and fat of the inner, outer, and posterior thigh. A thigh lift or thigh reduction can certainly address these areas. You have excess thigh skin and fat. Because you have excess thigh skin and fat, thigh liposuction alone will not solve your problems. Thigh liposuction will only remove thigh fat. You need the thigh skin removed. That means you need a thigh reduction. During a thigh reduction, thigh liposuction is performed. Then, an incision is made from the groin down the inner thigh. In your case, the incision would extend from the inner thigh to the knee. Your legs would be made significantly smaller. This procedure is called a longitudinal vertical medial thigh reduction. This thigh reduction is performed under general anesthesia and takes approximately four hours to complete. Plan on a 2 to 3 week recovery before returning to a sitting type job. Plan on a 3 to 4 week recovery to return to a more active job. Light activity can resume 4 to 6 weeks after the thigh lift. Aggressive activity like climbing stairs and working out usually can be initiated 6 to 8 weeks from your thigh lift. I specialize in thigh lifts. I hope that I have answered your questions regarding the thigh reduction. If you have any more questions regarding the thigh lift, thigh reduction, vertical thigh lift, medial thigh lift, spiral thigh lift, crescent thigh lift, or thigh lipo, please contact my office.
