Thank you for your question regarding what to do with your thighs after significant weight loss. Thank you also for your associated pictures. Based on your history of weight loss and your pictures, I would suggest a thigh reduction. I believe if one were to ONLY perform thigh liposuction that you would be left with hanging thigh skin. Therefore, I would suggest a thigh reduction to be combined with your thigh liposuction. The length of the scar will be determined on how much thigh skin you have and how far down the inner thigh the excess thigh skin extends. If the excess skin and fat bothers you down to the knee, then I would suggest an incision from the groin to the knee. If, however, the excess skin and fat only extends partially down the inner thigh, then I would suggest an incision from the groin only partially down the inner thigh. Alternately, if the excess skin and fat only bothers you around the upper inner ⅓ of the thigh, you may be a candidate for a crescent or a spiral thigh lift or reduction. Thank you for your questions regarding what to do with your thighs after significant weight loss. I specialize in thigh lifts. I hope that I have answered your questions regarding the thigh reduction. If you have any more questions regarding the thigh lift, thigh reduction, vertical thigh lift, medial thigh lift, spiral thigh lift, crescent thigh lift, or thigh lipo, please contact my office. Please seek an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon with significant experience performing thigh lifts. Do your research. Make sure your chosen plastic surgeon has performed at least 100 thigh lifts. Make sure they have the before and after pictures to prove it. Carefully examine their before and after pictures and check their reviews on RealSelf. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen.
