When does initial swelling go away from closed tip plasty?

How far a long post operative are you? I can see a swollen tip appearance, but it's not clear when your surgery was performed. Consider sending photos to your surgeon to get advice. Hope this helps. Dr Joseph

Your question does not mention how long ago you had your surgery which makes it more difficult to position the answer.

If this is shortly after removal of the tapes or cast, it is slightly more than usual but not necessarily a long-term problem.

I suggest that you discuss with your surgeon regarding the technique for massage they would approve of for reduction of the swelling at a faster rate. Steroid injections can also be helpful. In most instances, following closed intervention they are not necessary.

Taping the tip at night or even during the day is also helpful.

Expect to see significant improvement in the first 6 weeks after surgery.

There does appear to be a lot of nasal swelling present. Some of the picture coloration along the supratip region and dorsum appears to be altered as well, as if digitally done. Perhaps the pictures just didn't come through well.
Meet with your rhinoplasty surgeon who can try to determine the reason for the swelling and potential remedies.
Swelling subsides a great deal over the first few weeks and then very slowly; changes continue to evolve for many months (even a couple years!) after rhinoplasty.
In the meantime, sleep with your head elevated. Make sure you aren't taking any medications/supplements which can thin your blood and avoid strenuous activity.
