While surgery for a deviated septum and enlarged turbinates will generally be covered by insurance, some patients do not have insurance or would prefer not to use it. Pricing is very difficult to say for certain and will vary widely based on the surgeon, the facility, and type of anesthesia. In my practice, we might perform this surgery in a hospital or surgery center under general anesthesia or in my private surgical suite under IV sedation. In either case, the patient would be asleep and very comfortable, but the costs can vary widely, and would even vary from one hospital or surgical center to another. I suspect you are looking at somewhere in the $3,000 - $6,000 range, but again, this is only an estimate and can vary widely.Be sure to see an expert.Best,
Thank you for your questions. There is a surgery center in Oklahoma City that has "out the door" pricing on a number of non-cosmetic surgical procedures for self paying patients. Here is the link. I hope this helps.
The cost of a septoplasty and turbinate surgery is determined by 3 fees. These are time under anesthesia, time in the operating room, and the surgeon's fee for performing the procedure. A septoplasty and turbinate surgery is performed for medical necessity and is usually billed the patient's medical insurance. A septoplasty will not change the shape of the nose.
