But, if as seems to be the case here, the mark is flat and hyperpigmented, then a series of professionally performed manual microneedling accompanied by the immediate application of topical prescription bleaching medications would be a reasonable approach. Surgical revision in an area such as thjis, subject to movement, would likely lead to a stretch scar and even tram track stitch marks. Relatively expensive light- and energy-based therapies, especially in skin of color, run the risk of dyspigmentation, either hyper- or hypopigmentation. Microneedling (without the addition and expense of RF) has been proven to be safe and effective in all skin types for improving color and texture irregularities.
