What is the best way to prevent scarring/keloids after a tattoo?

Hello. What is the best way to prevent scarring/keloids after a tattoo for someone who is slightly prone to keloids? Ive only noticed the on a small part of my larger surgical scar. But my ear piercings are fine and I don't have keloids on smaller scars or bug bite scars. Thank you!
