Hello,It is ok to have a rhinoplasty surgery with or without breaking of the bones at your age as long as you are healthy.
Hi,While the structural framework of the nose does change with time, I have had plenty of patients get nasal surgery at your age. I would recommend a full assessment with evaluation of the internal and external aspects of your nose by someone that does a lot of nasal surgery. As we age, there are additional technical considerations but age alone should not prevent you from having nasal surgery. Hope that helps!
Hello! Thank you for your question. It is true that after 40 years old, the cells start loosing their elasticity and the scarring / recovery may be a little longer compared to before 40 years old. But it is possible to have a rhinoplasty surgery at 48. We even have patients who come for rhinoplasty at 60 years old, it is never too late (but of course we need also to check your medical condition).Best regards!
Thank you for your query. You are certainly not too old to have a rhinoplasty. Individuals in otherwise good health can have a rhinoplasty at a significantly older age as well. Please find an experienced Board certified Plastic surgeon who specialises in rhinoplasty procedures, who can help you with all your concerns. All the best!
Have performed uneventful rhinoplasty in many patients older than you are. We are not aware of any issues concerning Osteotomies and age. If you have significant dissatisfaction with the appearance of your nose, please consider Consulting with several reputable rhinoplasty specialists who offer computer Imaging so you could see what to expect after surgery. Hope this helps! Dr Joseph
No, it is not too late to get a rhinoplasty at 48. Many people undergo rhinoplasty surgery at various ages, and age itself is not usually a limiting factor. However, the specific concerns regarding breaking the bones during the surgery can depend on several factors, such as the thickness of the bones, the extent of the surgery, and the patient's overall health. In some cases, if the bones are too thin or fragile, the surgeon may need to take extra precautions during the surgery or use different techniques to avoid complications. It is important to have a consultation with a qualified and experienced plastic surgeon to assess your specific case and determine whether a rhinoplasty is the best option for you. They can evaluate your overall health, medical history, and nasal anatomy to recommend the most appropriate treatment plan to help you achieve your desired results.I hope this helps, best of luck !
If you’re interested in pursuing rhinoplasty surgery and are healthy enough to undergo anesthesia, I don’t know if any literature that shows sub-optimal outcomes due to bone healing at your age. Make sure you take the time to recover appropriately afterwards and follow your surgeons instructions in the pre-op and post-op period and you should do great! Best of luck to you with this decision.
Your age is certainly not a contraindication to having a rhinoplasty There are a number of factors that are far more important: Your general health, individual anatomy, realistic expectations, and a full understanding of the benefits as well as the potential problems that can occur with the procedure.I would suggest you find a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery ASAPS) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person. If you decide to undergo the procedure, I would suggest a medical clearance from your primary physician before proceeding with any surgical procedure.Robert Singer, MD FACSLa Jolla, California

Is it safe to have a rhinoplasty at age 48? in today’s world 48 years old is still quite young. A Rhinoplasty is a rather short surgery with a very light anesthesia. I have done a Rhinoplasties on patients up to 68 years old. What is more important is your general health. If you are generally healthy and not obese, you would be considered a very low risk for surgery and anesthesia at 48 years old. people, today, have open heart surgery which is far more invasive, longer, and more risky then rhinoplasty in their 90s , and do well.
