Updated: Hello I have had my nose done 8 months ago. And I don't really like my nose tip. I told my doctor that I wanted it a little bit upturned, but now it has a weird shape. My nose was very droopy. And now I just wonder if I used the wrong "term".
Answer: Your nose is still droopy. Sorry. Probably, it would take a signnificant elevation of the tip to get your satisfied. More... From the photos you submitted, it looks like elevating the tip and probably bringing the tip back closer to your face would be the thing to do. The good news is that these changes are usually rather predictable to accomplish, even in a revision. But not very many plastic surgeons would be able to accomplish those changes, as they are difficult technically. How *much* to elevate the tip, or make other changes? We figure that out with morphs, well before surgery. I'd love for you to see some excellent professionally-designed morphs of what could possibly be done with your nose. Morphs could also help you identify better just what's bothering you, and help you set a goal for the rhinoplasty that's accurate for your tastes. Profile and three-quarter views would be particularly important in morphing your nose. (Side note: in my opinion, morphs should really be done by the surgeon, or he should direct an assistant as she makes the morphs. Morphs should be made with a constant eye to what actually *can* be done in surgery, for that particular nose, and the surgeon has that information and judgment best.) Finally, remember that rhinoplasty is an exquisitely difficult operation to get right, and you should only have surgery if you are able to make yourself very confident in your surgeon's skills. The changes that your nose needs require advanced techniques, and skill that most plastic surgeons don't possess with expertise. For most noses, it's much better to not have surgery than to have inexpertly-performed surgery. Read my essay on how to stay out of trouble while selecting a rhinoplasty surgeon. And it also discusses how to take photos that are best for online evaluations. And for those who have had previous surgery, it also discusses how to tell whether your first surgeon should be performing your revision.

Answer: Early result after rhinoplasty Your postoperative photo shows that you still have "significant" swelling and that your result did not mature yet. You should need to wait at least 4-6 months to let your result mature. Only in that time it would be appropriete to discuss some of the concerns you currently have, with your surgeon. In the meantime you should try to tape your nose overnight to keep swelling under control. Good luck.

Answer: Rhinoplasty post-op Hello! Thank you for your question.Unfortunately without seeing your photos I cannot say a lot for your case. But it is possible that your nose is upturned if you think that it is lifted too much. If you can share some photos I would be able to make a proper evaluation.Best regards!

Answer: Uplifted tip versus upturned tip: Uplifted tip versus upturned tip: these expressions both mean the same thing to a plastic surgeon. They refer to the extent of what is technically referred to as the “rotation“ of the tip. Increasing the rotation of the tip in technical terms is the same as referring to an “uplifted“ or “Upturned“ or “lifted“ nasal tip.

Answer: A lifted nose tip and an upturned one is the same. Without photos, it's difficult to understand what you're not liking about the appearance of your nasal tip. Please consider re-asking your question with before and after photos for a more definitive answer. Hope this helps! Dr Joseph
