Can Axillary Tissue Be Transferred With Armpit Fat?

Question

I apparently have axillary breast tissue in my armpits, but I know there is fat there, too. Can the axillary tissue be used to enhance my breasts the same way the fat can? Could it be done all at once? (The fat grafting/transfer and the axillary repositioning?)

Dear ece311,
in order to increase the size of your breasts, you can use fat transfer or breast implants. But you can't use axillary breast tissue. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.

Fat can be transferred from any part of the body to the breasts. However there probably is not enough fat in the axillary to get the job done

No, actual breast tissue cannot be transferred with fat for it will be removed from its blood supply and is too firm to be removed with just liposuction. Once transferred, the breast tissue will not be able to develop blood supply like the fat can and will die. Except for skin and fat, most transferred tissue must be transferred with its working blood vessels to live.

Have not heard of repositioning of axillary tissue for breast enhancement purposes.
For the purpose of fat transfer fat can be harvested from any part of the body including the armpit.
I think most plastic surgeons would not rely on axillary tissue for breast augmentation.
Perhaps they know something I don’t.
